Tallahassee Police Department Welcomes Second Class of 2024 Recruits

Tuesday, Aug. 6, Chief Lawrence E. Revell and the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) celebrated its second class of recruits in 2024, welcoming 13 new officers.
"We are excited to have these 13 new officers join our team and look forward to them having a distinguished career with the Tallahassee Police Department," said Chief Revell. "When officers make Tallahassee their home and integrate into the community, it highlights TPD's dedication to fostering relationships, building trust, and striving for a brighter future."
Among the new officers, four bring valuable prior law enforcement experience, while three come from distinguished military backgrounds, including two Marines and one member of the Army National Guard. These recruits bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the department, and their diverse backgrounds will contribute to the strength and unity of the agency.
The Tallahassee Police Department stands as one of the oldest and most esteemed accredited police departments in the nation, dedicated to serving the citizens of Tallahassee since 1826. Comprised of nearly 600 members, the department is unwavering in its commitment to providing excellent service to the community.
